Portable Line Boring for Excavators and Backhoes

When the pin bores on your excavator or backhoe wear out, the whole machine suffers. You get sloppy controls, pins and bushings chewing through faster, and an operator fighting the machine all day. A1 Metalworks fixes worn bores right, so you’re not replacing the same pins again in six months.

What we do

Most of our line boring work is on excavator and backhoe pin bores: boom, stick, bucket and loader arm connections. Our process:

  1. Measure the worn bores to see how far out of round and oversized they are.
  2. Weld up the worn bore to build back the metal.
  3. Line bore it back to size, true and in line with the bores around it.
  4. Fit the pins and bushings.

On site or in our shop

Pulling a machine off the job to haul it to a shop costs you time and money. Our portable line boring equipment comes to you, whether that’s a job site, a yard or a pit. If it makes more sense to bring the part to us, we can do the same work in our Dallas shop at 404 E. Lawson Rd.

Where we work

We’re based in Dallas and do line boring within about 250 miles. That covers the Dallas-Fort Worth area and much of North and East Texas. Not sure you’re in range? Call and ask.

Why A1 Metalworks

We’ve been welding in North Texas since 1992. The same crew that does your line boring also handles heavy equipment repairs and machine shop work, so if your bucket or boom needs more than bores, we can do it all in one trip.
